Re-blouse, Re-shoes, Re-motorcylce jacket

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a huge thrift shopper.  When I want to go shopping, it is not to the mall or to a boutique, it is to the nearest Goodwill or Salvation Army.  I will argue that not only is thrifting a great way to save money, it is a great way to save the environment too by recycling and reusing goods.  To even further the concept of saving on shopping, I also engage in a yearly challenge that I encourage you to try as well.  At the start of a new year I turn all the hangers in my closet around.  Each time I wear and wash an item and re-hang it in the closet, the hanger then points in the opposite direction.  In 6 months, anything that hasn't been turned around will find a new forever home after being donated or re-sold in consignment.  This task also helps me to put into perspective the difference between "I want that great new shiny bauble" and "I really do need some new underpinnings."  Many of us are blessed to have the ability to accumulate goods (I am especially appreciative of all the goods my closet holds.  Finding meaning in giving, donating, recycling and saving does a frugal fashionista good!  The challenge is on friends!
